Accomplishments
During its 26 year history, CAACY has excelled in providing counseling/crisis intervention, information and referral, and life skills educational services to over 20,000 Philadelphia residents. CAACY has successfully helped its clients with such problems as child abuse, drug and alcohol abuse, teen parenting and pregnancy, family planning, court involvement, truancy, job readiness and placement, emergency food, clothing, shelter, nutrition, health and mental health problems. CAACY has also provided advocacy services at all levels of government to address the needs of the community.
CAACY expresses its advocacy approach in the following manner:
- 88% of CAACY's clients do not go into placement as recorded by a report of The American Humane Society.
- 90% of the children serviced by CAACY, who are at-risk, residing in the Philadelphia Housing Authority Developments did not go on the roles of The Philadelphia Department of Human Services or into the Juvenile Justice System.
- CAACY has personally saved the lives of many residents of the City of Philadelphia by personally taking them to Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Centers.
- CAACY's spiritual force has met the basic needs in these families through provision of food and clothing to the family, and in some instances rental assistance in order to keep the family intact and out of harm's way.
- CAACY has had six straight years of perfect evaluations as recorded by the Philadelphia Department of Human Services.
